Change Profile Picture
Facebook Com Change Profile Picture - I've made clear of my distaste for Facebook's interface, which is equivalent parts messy, complicated, as well as outright maddening.
For instance, expect you intend to change your profile image. Appears like the type of option you may locate in, claim, Account Settings. Nope, not there. Privacy Settings? Nuh-uh.
Well, possibly if you click your name to open your account, you'll find the choice there. Let's see ... no, there's absolutely nothing that says "adjustment profile picture." Oh, here we go, I'll bet if you click Update Information ...
One more strike. Exactly what's that, now, 4?
This is yet an additional of Facebook's ridiculously obscure setups that's actually hiding in ordinary view. (Previous culprit: location sharing.) To alter your profile image, do this:
1. Open your profile by clicking your name, either on the left side (below the Facebook logo design) or the appropriate side of the toolbar up top.
2. Mouse over your existing photo picture, click Edit Account Photo, then select an alternative (Select from Photos, Upload Photo, Edit Thumbnail, and so on) from the drop-down menu that shows up.
That's right! All this time, the alternative was right there-- given you hovered your mouse in the ideal area. Begin, Facebook, you can do better. (Quick note: If you happened to mount among the Facebook-photo-zoom devices I pointed out the other day, you might locate that the pop-up image covers the Edit Account Photo tool. Bleh.).
There is, admittedly, an additional means to deal with this. If you wish to transform an image that's already in your Facebook library into your profile photo, you could-- but, once again, discovering the option can be maddening unless you know where to look.
Discover the image you want, then click it to raise the full-size variation in its own home window. Currently, see that small equipment icon in the upper-right edge? Click it, then choose Make Profile Photo. Why there's not a button for this alongside Tag Picture, Include Area, and so on is past me.
Does this worsen you as much as it does me? Or do you assume I'm being overly extreme? Either way, share your thoughts in the comments!
