Change Profile Picture
How To Change Your Profile Picture On Facebook - I've made obvious of my distaste for Facebook's user interface, which is equal parts unpleasant, complicated, as well as outright infuriating.
For instance, expect you intend to alter your account image. Seems like the sort of choice you may discover in, claim, Account Setups. Nope, not there. Personal privacy Settings? Nuh-uh.
Well, possibly if you click your name to open your account, you'll find the option there. Let's see ... no, there's nothing that states "adjustment profile photo." Oh, below we go, I'll bet if you click Update Details ...
One more strike. What's that, currently, 4?
This is yet one more of Facebook's unbelievably obscure setups that's actually concealing in plain sight. (Previous offender: place sharing.) To change your account picture, do this:
1. Open your profile by clicking your name, either on the left side (listed below the Facebook logo design) or the right side of the toolbar up top.
2. Mouse over your present image image, click Edit Profile Image, then choose an option (Choose From Photos, Upload Image, Edit Thumbnail, and so on) from the drop-down menu that appears.
That's right! All this time around, the choice was right there-- provided you hovered your mouse in the best place. Begin, Facebook, you can do much better. (Quick note: If you took place to mount among the Facebook-photo-zoom tools I discussed recently, you might discover that the pop-up photo obscures the Edit Profile Photo device. Bleh.).
There is, undoubtedly, one more method to go about this. If you intend to transform a photo that's already in your Facebook library into your profile picture, you can-- yet, once more, locating the choice can be frustrating unless you know where to look.
Discover the picture you desire, then click it to bring up the full-size version in its own home window. Currently, see that tiny equipment symbol in the upper-right edge? Click it, and then choose Make Profile Image. Why there's not a button for this along with Tag Photo, Include Area, etc. is beyond me.
Does this exacerbate you as high as it does me? Or do you assume I'm being excessively harsh? Either way, share your thoughts in the comments!
